Checking if a substring exists in a string bash

string='Haystack';

if [[ $string =~ "Needle" ]]
then
   echo "It's there!"
fi

Bash if substring

string='Hi substring' #To check if string has "Mylong" substring do

  echo "String has substring"
fi
